Identification of dihydropyridines that reduce cellular tau levels.
A series of dihydropyridines were identified that have an effect on the accumulation of tau, an important target in Alzheimer's disease. The dihydropyridine collection was expanded using the Hantzsch multicomponent reaction to develop preliminary structure-activity relationships.
متن کاملIdentification of the Tau phosphorylation pattern that drives its aggregation.
Determining the functional relationship between Tau phosphorylation and aggregation has proven a challenge owing to the multiple potential phosphorylation sites and their clustering in the Tau sequence. We use here in vitro kinase assays combined with NMR spectroscopy as an analytical tool to generate well-characterized phosphorylated Tau samples and show that the combined phosphorylation at th...
متن کاملfunctional study of p0 proteins of two cereal yellow dwarf viruses (cydv-rpv and cydv-rps) and identification of their cellular partner
P-224: Mechanisms That Reduce Endometrial Receptivity in Endometriosis
Background: Several studies indicate clear relationship between infertility and endometriosis. However, the etiology of this association is uncertain. Endometrial dysfunction is a possible cause of infertility in women with endometriosis, which could explain the high rates of implantation failure and miscarriages in these women. Delay in endometrial maturation and intrauterine biochemical abnor...
متن کاملThe Identification of Chemical Compounds that Decrease Cellular Levels of Toxic Huntington's Disease Protein Through a Novel Cell-Based Assay
Huntington's disease (HD) is a progressive degenerative neurological disorder. Individuals who inherit the IT15 gene with an expansion of the CAG repeat region inevitably succumb to increasingly sever motor, psychological, and cognitive symptoms. I sought to develop an assay system with the capability for identification of chemical compounds that selectively decrease the intracellular levels of...
